"My parents were dairy farmers and I got acquainted with a rural community of raising cattle and selling milk door to door like they did back in that day. In fact my dad had a delivery route and drove through Meadville with his milk truck and dropped off deliveries at people's homes. And occasionally I would get to ride in the truck with him when I didn't have to go to school and that was always very much fun. Being in a rural community was good because people knew each other in our neighborhood which stretched about a mile long. We knew all the neighbors and at Halloween time going trick or treat. I knew where everybody, or who everybody was when I went to their door, which made it rather nice."
