Early View of the Market House.

Farmers would come to Meadville, unload their produce, honeys and syrups, and set up booths to sell their merchandise while their horses stood tied to a hitching rack, or the farmer’s wagon. Townspeople would walk along the booths on market days with their baskets, eager to socialize and bring home fresh goods.
